We all love our Yankee candles, but accidents do happen and if you or your little one has accidentally knocked candle off on the carpet – do not worry! We got you. Wax on the carpet may seem like a total disaster but with our effective tips, it’s not a case. Wax stain is actually not like a stubborn wine or blood stain so even a person with poor cleaning skills can get rid of this successfully by following instructions below.
And after all, wax can be scraped off but it can take some time. So, we have a quick and effective way to do this - it is not only convenient, but it will be especially useful in cases where you want the wax to be gone as soon as possible.
Plus, you don’t need much time and the carpet will look clean again. All you need is an iron and paper towels. So how it works, is that the wax melts at a temperature of 50-57 ° C, so our goal is to make the wax on the carpet melt again and for paper towels to absorb it all.
Directions
Step 1. Place paper towel on the stain
NOTE: Consider the thickness of the paper and the number of layers. It is best to use at least a double layer of paper towels, as it may happen that the melted wax will not only penetrate through the paper, but will also remain on the iron. When the iron is placed vertically, hot and liquid wax can drip into the steam vents and clog them.
Step 2. Set the required temperature and heat up the iron
NOTE: Synthetic coatings used in carpets are much more sensitive to high temperatures. If you do not want to risk a carpet, use a lower temperature, but remember that wax melt at high temperature.
Step 3. Place the iron on a paper towel and hold for a few seconds. With a larger number of layers, hold for a little longer.
Step 4. Time to check. After removing the iron, you should be able to see that some of the wax has soaked into the paper towel.
Step 5. Now, let's see what’s happening under it. If there is still wax left, but you can see that the amount of it is reducing - you’re doing everything right. You might need to hold iron over the towel for a little longer. Repeat the procedure until the carpet is completely cleaned. If the paper towel is soaked in too much wax, replace it.
Step 7. Wax should now be gone!
